Dipropylene glycol (DPG) is a liquid free from colour and barely has any smell. It is not very pernicious, and the boiling point is high. The liquid is a biological compound and is a blend of three isometrics: 2-(2-hydroxy-propoxy)-propane-1-ol, 2-(2-hydroxy-1-methyl-ethoxy)-propane-1-ol and 4-oxa-2,6-heptandiol. DPG is used for cosmetic purposes as a plasticiser. Moreover, Rebain supplies Dipropylene glycol in a fragrance grade.
